Because He Lives

Wow! Tonight was one of a kind...

Kiley had a bit of an interesting evening.  I'm still not certain what exactly was going on inside her little heart, but she struggled big time emotionally and behaviorally.  It was quite the challenge, but we got through it.

Because of all of the drama, I was late for church and faced teaching a lesson I felt terribly unprepared for.  Despite my insanity, God managed to prove Himself faithful and I made it through the lesson without dying! ;)

I chose to blog because when I was at my wit's end, the youth group praise band sang a song I've heard a MILLION times.  But tonight it hit home.  So, I wanted to share it with you because it may be just what you need as well. (By the way, believe me when I say that they nailed it!)

Because He Lives
(Verse 1)
God sent his son
They called him Jesus
He came to love
Heal and forgive
He lived and died
To buy my pardon
An empty grave
Is there to prove
My Savior lives

(Chorus)
Because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life and is worth the living
Just because he lives

(Verse 2)
How sweet to hold
A newborn baby
And feel the pride
And joy he gives
But greater still
The calm assurance
This child can face
Uncertain days
Because he lives

(Verse 3)
And then one day
I'll cross the river
I'll fight life's fi-
Nal war with pain
And then as death
Gives way to victory
I'll see the lights
Of glory and
I'll know he lives

Verse two stood out to me tonight as I thought about the uncertainty in my little girl's life right now and the fact that she CAN face that because He does live.  I got the opportunity to hug on Kiley and reassure her tonight and even got to cuddle her till she fell asleep.  So thankful that I can rest assured that our future is bright because our Savior lives!!!
