Today, I watched this short video clip advertising a new line of toys for girls that's supposed to encourage engineering thinking in girls. I didn't think much of it and went on about my day. 

Later, we had a little surprise birthday party for our friend where I hung balloons from the ceiling fan. 

After the party, Kamden asks if we could turn it into a swing for her baby doll! So, together we three maneuvered it to work as a swing for her baby while the girls just laughed and laughed and I silently prayed we wouldn't pull the already loose ceiling fan out of the ceiling! 

After the fact, I caught Kiley trying a variety of her dolls on the rigged up swing and it reminded me of the video. Ha! 

So, I let the girls watch it and they loved it, ran off to their room to set up their own cause & affect obstacle course. 

They were already cracking me up with all their excitement when Kamden says, "Mommy! Those girls had a pool in their house!" (Speaking of the video) And Kiley says, in a slight whisper yet so matter of factly and as if it were big news, "Kamden, people in America have YARDS!" 

Haha. Oh the life of a TCK! Have you thanked God for your yard today? We may be reteaching the girls what that is when we come back! ;)

Trust Jesus or Else

For those of you who enjoy my embarrassing moments here in our new country, I think you'll enjoy this one. 

Today, while sharing in a village with a woman who is on the fence about following Christ, my friends had the opportunity to share straight-up truth with her. I kept quiet most of the time, intimidated over my lack of language ability compared to theirs. 

Throughout the meeting, the cutest little 8 month old girl had been chewing on whatever she could get her hands on. One of those items being a very real looking toy gun. I had made mention (in English) how that weirded me out and I didn't love the idea of it. 

Well, towards time to leave, I finally decided to speak up and share how when we follow Christ we must be obedient to His commands. I had kept quiet the whole time and when I finally decided to speak, it turns out that without even realizing it, I had picked up that toy gun and was waving it rather wildly as I spoke! 

After leaving, my friends were cracking up and I had no idea I had even done it. They said it was rather comical to watch as I appeared as if I was holding a gun to their head, saying, "Trust Jesus or else!"
